Whitmore Group Teams With Iron Cove Partners

Delivers Insurance, Risk Management Consulting Services

To Broad Range of New York Area Businesses

Garden City, New York – February 10, 2011 – James Metzger’s The Whitmore Group, Ltd., a leading insurance services and estate planning company in the New York metropolitan area, and Louis D’Agostino’s Iron Cove Partners, LLC, an agency dedicated to servicing the unique insurance requirements of the financial services and securities trading industry, have created a new insurance and financial services team that that will deliver a broad variety of risk management and insurance related products for businesses and high net worth individuals.

For more than 20 years, The Whitmore Group has simplified the insurance purchasing process while securing coverage with the most reputable insurance providers. Based in Garden City, The Whitmore Group focuses on all facets of personal and commercial insurance along with estate planning.

Prior to forming Iron Cove Partners during 2010, Mr. D’Agostino served as a director in the financial services division of Frank Crystal & Company, a 75-year-old New York City insurance firm. Iron Cove Partners, with New York offices in Manhattan and Garden City along with offices in Boca Raton, Florida, will become a division of The Whitmore Group. Mr. D’Agostino will serve as Senior Vice President and a member of the Management Committee. He also will continue to oversee Iron Cove Partners as its managing principal.

The collaboration between Mr. Metzger and Mr. D’Agostino creates a new team of creative insurance and risk management advisors that provide expertise in handling the complex insurance needs of companies engaged in the area of financial services. Their new partnership will stress the teamwork already entrenched within both organizations and that has been a daily dynamic of these two talented local athletes for many years.

Mr. Metzger is a former lacrosse All-American at Half Hollow Hills East High School in Dix Hills and Hofstra University. He set assist records (82 in one season) and won awards during his high school playing days, including the 1977 Ray Enners Award for outstanding Suffolk County lacrosse player. During high school, Mr. Metzger also starred in football and basketball. He then played lacrosse for two years at Hofstra University, where he led Hofstra in assists during his freshman and sophomore seasons (1979 and 1980). His single season points per game average (4.9) ranks fourth all-time and his single season assist average (2.8) ranks eighth.

Mr. D’Agostino is a graduate of Lawrence High School, where he was a star running back and linebacker who received the 1990 Thorp Award for most outstanding high school football player for Nassau County. He continued his sports career at Hofstra and the University of Rhode Island, receiving three team MVP awards and first-team All-Conference and All-American honors. Though undrafted after college, Mr. D’Agostino spent two seasons under a professional contract with the New York Jets and played with the XFL New York/New Jersey Hitmen and the Florida Bobcats of the Arena Football League.

Mr. D’Agostino developed Iron Cove to address the unique insurance needs of high net worth individuals and companies engaged in the area of financial services. Insurance products, such as Personal Lines, Employee Health Benefits and a wide array of executive liability insurance, include but are not limited to directors and officers liability, professional liability, employment practices liability, fidelity bonds, fiduciary liability, key man life and disability insurance.

Mr. Metzger and Mr. D’Agostino also share the belief in corporate responsibility that supports the communities in which they live and work.

Mr. Metzger is one of the biggest benefactors of sports (football and lacrosse) at Hofstra University, and he also supports education programs at the school. He is a contributor and board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.

Mr. D’Agostino co-founded the Italian Networking Organization, a New Jersey nonprofit created to facilitate networking among Italian-American business professionals and to provide contributions to a variety of local charities. He also is involved with the New York City-based Columbus Citizens Foundation, a philanthropic organization that supports the education of Italian-American students who have the drive to succeed in school and beyond but lack the means to reach their potential. Mr. D’Agostino also has supported and been an integral part of the fund raising efforts for the Cooleys Anemia Foundation (CAF). CAF is national non-profit organization dedicated to serving people afflicted with various forms of thalassemia that includes the major form of this genetic blood disease — Cooley’s anemia/thalassemia major.
